David turns 5!

We've hoped and prayed for our boys, especially David, that they would have hearts like Nehemiah: to call families together, to work, to protect, to rebuild.

October 1st, 2005 changed my life forever. I'd never known that kind of pain, accomplishment and love that came in the wee hours of that morning.

Full Name: David Michael Garvey.

David: (Hebrew) “Beloved of God.” A man after God’s own heart, a righteous king.

Michael: (Hebrew) “Like God” Archangel, greatest of warriors. Likened unto God.

David Michael: From the lineage of our father’s, David Guy Cools and Dennis Michael Garvey.

Garvey: (Gaelic) "Rough Peace."













This year was David's first camping trip.


This year was David's first time catching a crab.












This was David's first year getting to play baseball at the cabin.


This was David's first year trying to ski.








Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Then said I:

“Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”

But the LORD said to me: "Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.

Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me:

“Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.”
